All over the world in every industry, what distinguishes the truly excellent organisation is the exercise of responsible participation by all members of the organisation. Excellence in an organisation can only be achieved through dedication and efforts of its human resources.
For optimum results to be achieved, individuals must work as members of a well organised and coordinated team. There must be a high level of cooperation; communication, understanding and teamwork to produce unwavering desired optimum results. It is essential that everyone must develop members to work together as a highly motivated and achieving team. The trick if finding them….
I often ask people the question “What is the oldest profession in the world”, 9 out of 10 get it wrong. Sales is the oldest profession and the greatest. Just imagine a job when YOU can choose your hours, the people you work with and even your pay cheque, added to that the environment to make as much money as you can imagine and then some more on top of that if you feel like it.
An old manager of mine once said “sales is not a JOB, it’s not a CAREER, and it’s a WAY OF LIFE.” He was right.
As a professional sales man for 30 years and having recruited many excellent people along the way (and lost a few) I look upon the ability to recruit good people one of the primary functions of any sales company. But so many continue to make the same mistakes along the way at great cost to themselves and their organisation not to mention the human cost due to false hopes and lost dreams.
To be a commission only salesman can fill a lot of people with dread to me it was always an adventure and after 30 years its still an adventure
